For me, it is very difficult not to use at least about 20 colours when I paint. But I also know that challenge is the best for personal development, so therefore I usually as soon as I feel comfortable with something- defy it. It's a difficult feeling, a balance that has to happen and this is what constantly takes me forward. In this painting, I have therefore only used four colours as a basis and worked hard with them to create harmony in the painting. The inspiration is from when the snow settles like a blanket over Norrmalmstorg in Stockholm.
