My ambition when painting Hallwylska was to create a very big painting, that captured the atmosphere at magical Hallwylska. I am so proud of this creation and I think that it sets the tone for the rest of the Presence Exhibition, which is all about capturing those special moments. 

When painting Hallwylska, I have imagined people in Stockholm enjoying their social life, feeling free and filled with life again. The people are all dressed in festive clothes,  not least the couple in the middle. The man even wears a suit, which I have never painted before! To me, this painting is associated with positive feelings such as warmth, happiness, and optimism.
